City of Cranbrook

Tourism Master Plan
Cadence worked closely with the City of Cranbrook to engage residents, businesses and local arts/culture and heritage groups to create a tourism vision and guide investments over the next 20 years. The strategy considers Cranbrook's unique family-friendly vibe on the 'quiet' side of the Rockies and as the homeland of the Ktunaxa Nation Recommendations were integrated into the Downtown Vitalization Strategy to ensure visitor needs were considered as part of downtown planning. Short, medium and long-term priorities to develop experiences for identified target markets were recommended.
The Lakeside Village of Granisle

Downtown Revitalization/
Resident & Business
Attraction Strategies
Cadence was asked toconsider optimal re-use of several empty buildings in the downtown core as well as develop a larger tourism strategy. This work was foundational to achieving Council's objective to beautify the Village, attract new residents and develop new visitor experiences as part of an economic diversification strategy which embraced tourism more fully in response to declines in mining and forestry. This project recommended hub/spoke experiences that featured lake and trail-based experiences designed to lengthen stays and funnel visitor spending towards small local shops/restaurants.
City of White Rock

Tourism Strategy

Priority investments in infrastructure and experience development were determined along with an optimal form of governance to achieve an agreed set of priorities.
City of Abbotsford

Fraser Valley Meetings &
Convention Centre
Cadence led a feasibility assessment considering market opportunity for a mid-sized convention and meetings facility in the Fraser Valley. This study engaged with meeting planners and benchmarked meeting industry trends. Three possible facility locations were considered and recommendations made for next steps in pursuit of this tourism and economic development opportunity.
District of Mackenzie

Visitor Servicing Strategy
Cadence led a team of consultants to consider necessary improvements to current physical Visitor Centre infrastructure as well as to recommend a future direction for provision of Visitor Information once in the downtown core. A staged investment plan was recommended to improve accessibility and address deferred maintenance in the current facility while envisioning a paradigm shift away from capital-heavy new facilities toward distributed information services across all local businesses in the downtown core.
City of Campbell River

Tourism Strategy
Cadence facilitated the development of a new tourism strategy for the City of Campbell River that re-united the tourism industry and secured 3% MRDT funding under a newly formed, highly accountable governance structure.
