 SEA TO SKY LAND RESOURCE MANAGEMENT PLAN is a comprehensive land planning process for Crown Land from
 Lions
 Bay, British Columbia, Canada to Pemberton including the communities of Squamish and Whistler. With tourism as the  primary economic engine in this region, it was vitally important to secure suitable access and use of the land to support  a sustainable  tourism industry. As the front country tourism representative, CADENCE STRATEGIES, through its principal,  Suzanne Denbak, effectively collaborated and negotiated with other land users to develop a plan that secures the status of  tourism as a priority user of Crown land.

 SERVICES PROVIDED FROM SEPTEMBER 2002 TO PRESENT:

  • Commissioned study to review the tourism value of preserving the Upper Elaho Valley as a National Park
  • Facilitated unprecedented discussion amongst regional stakeholders regarding conflicting land use in
    Sea to Sky Region of British Columbia
  • Represented the interests of the tourism industry in land use planning in the Sea to Sky Region
  • Negotiated with other sectors to achieve multi-sector consensus on land use in the region
  • Maintained and enhanced government relations on behalf of the tourism industry
  • Maintained and enhanced First Nations relationships

 SOUTH COAST /MOUNTAIN REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION ADVISORY COMMITTEE was formed by the government of British  Columbia to provide advice on regional transportation priorities to the Minister of Transportation. CADENCE  STRATEGIES, through its principal, Suzanne Denbak participated in the development of the inaugural report for the region.

 SERVICES PROVIDED IN 2003:

  • Liaison with the Chair, Vice Chair and members of the Committee to understand regional
    transportation priorities
  • Development of draft priorities for each of four sub-regions and review of these priorities
    with sub-region representatives
  • Finalization of report to the Minister on behalf of the Committee
