 METRO TORONTO CONVENTION CENTRE is Canada's largest convention and meeting facility with over 450,000 sq.ft.
 of meeting and exhibit space. In her role as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Suzanne Denbak  as responsible for all aspects of the $185 million expansion of the facility including planning approvals, design
 coordination, value engineering and project delivery on time and on budget.

 SERVICES PROVIDED FROM 1994 TO 1998:

  • Prepared the detailed Request for Proposal for the Metro Toronto Convention Centre Expansion Project
    and evaluation of submissions by two proponents
  • Secured all approvals necessary from the Province of Ontario, City of Toronto, Metro Toronto and all adjacent landowners
  • On time/on budget delivery of the $185 million expansion of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre Coordinated architectural, mechanical, and electrical /telecommunications design
  • Project also included a 15 acre park, restoration of several rail heritage buildings, completion of a district
    steam heating/cooling plant and construction of new municipal streets/underground services

  • Negotiated 35 different contracts with private developers, general contractors, consultants,
    municipal governments, federal crown corporations and provincial bodies
  • Managed submissions for Official Plan Amendments, rezoning and by-law changes
  • Controlled tendering of over 120 tender packages having sole decision making authority for awards,
    contract changes and progress draws
  • Monitored all activities and spending against budget and schedule requirements to ensure on-time,
    on-budget project delivery

  • Responsible for all aspects of the operation of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre
    during critical first year of expanded operation
